Rowan Love
I recently splurged $25 on the most gorgeous knitting “magazine” I have ever seen. It’s more like a book that you might even display on your coffee table. The photography is stunning and the patterns are lust-worthy. It’s Rowan Knitting & Crochet Magazine, and this issue is Number 43.
My sweet Great Aunt Bettie gave me a gift certificate to the local yarn store, and I’m going to use it to purchase the yarn for one of these patterns. I think Astral is my favorite. I love the chiffon roses and trim around the collar. It calls for Rowan 4 Ply Cotton.
I really like this one too, Geno, but I would want to lengthen the sleeves. It calls for the same yarn as Astral. I prefer it in white, like below. Pink is pretty, but I never wear it.
I love this one too. But I’m afraid that maybe it’s her shirt that makes it work.
Which do you prefer? I am kind of considering making Geno, but with the sleeves of Astral, and Astral’s chiffon embellishments. However, I’m sure that model is super skinny, and if even she can’t button the bottom buttons, how on Earth would a luscious girl like me button them? It makes me afraid that there is no waist shaping in the pattern.
If I had more money than brains I would buy every issue ever printed of this magazine. I love just looking at it!

I love the vest. I’m thinking with a boat-neck, long sleeve tee it would look so cute and casual.
