Meet my new pet, Skein

Sep 25th

I finally took a picture of my Baby Surprise Jacket! Thank you to Paula and Aunt Bettie for their support of my endeavor! I used the rest of my stash from my Haekelbeutel bag, Plymouth Yarn Encore Colorspun Worsted in color 7022. It’s a fantastic colorway that doesn’t perpetuate any baby gender-role-biases. I’m just kidding! ~ it’s appropriate for boys or girls.

Wednesday I had a hankering for some yarn. In the mornings waiting for the bus my neck has been getting chilly. So I had the (rare) urge to knit some scarves. So I went to the LYS after work and spent (shhh… this is almost embarrassing) an hour and freaking half in my itty bitty teeny tiny LYS picking out the yarn.

Oooh, *drool* it was worth every minute. I came away with some soft, luscious,  Misti Alpaca and a gorgeous leafy-lace pattern. It is a dream to knit. Every 5 rows I have to tell Andy to give it a pet. It is SO deliciously warm, snugly, and did I mention – soft?…. It really is bizarre to be so enamored of a skein of yarn.

I also came away with another scarf pattern and a skein of Noro Sock yarn in a fantastic sunset-y colorway, which I am planning on making as a Christmas gift. I adore Noro and their BOLD colorways. Oh, Japan. How I love thee. Let me count the ways.

Ps: Renee – After 2 days – I get it! Yes, that was an accident, but hilarious – I’m leaving it! -Julie 7.5

I don’t think I have ever spent less than an hour and a half in a yarn store. I get real nervous because I want everything. Noro rocks 7.5!
