Generosity
I was the recipient of some unexpected generosity recently. My Great Aunt Bettie’s friend Marlene has read my blog, and decided to gift me a book of hers about the crocheted art A New Look at Crochet: Using Basic Stitches to Create Modern Designs by Elyse and Mike Sommer. It was published in 1975. My copy is in fantastic shape, and it is full of amazing sculptures and wearable art. It’s so cool to read about crochet artists and see their work treated with respect. While viewing the wild creations, it’s very helpful to keep in mind what I posted a few weeks ago about appreciating art on its own.
The book includes loads of pictures and even some basic instructions on the process of creating your own original crocheted art.
