Ready…Fire…Aim!
I ran across an interesting MSN article the other day when I was checking my hotmail; Meet the Whiz Kids: 10 Overachievers Under 21. It’s not about crafts, but internet savvy kids with an original idea. I found it to be really inspiring. It reminded me of something Andy once told me that he had read in a book – “shoot, then aim”. I’m sure that a few of you already have craft businesses or are thinking about starting one up. Even if you don’t know what your ideal business looks like – just get yourself out there. You’re allowed to change and grow. You’ll learn what works, what doesn’t, and what path you want to take. Just don’t be afraid to start. Shoot. Then aim.
This weekend was our Birthday weekend. No, I’m not pulling a Perez and calling myself “us”. Andy’s Birthday and my Birthday are only 4 days apart (21st/25th), so we usually try to do something special. This year we hung out with Aunt Susan and Uncle Rainer at their home at Sea Ranch. It was beautiful. We saw tons (ha!) of whales; mamas and their babies, headed north. It was awesome. How cool to have a house where you can look out the window and see quail, deer, turkey, sheep, WHALES! Anywho, it was lovely.
This is Point Arena, a bit north of Sea Ranch.

Cheese! Brrr…

We ran into (not literally) Uncle Rainer, who was out on a ride. German stud muffin.

Sunday – back in Sacramento – I started working on some crocheted art for a show I’m going to be in. =)! I’ll tell you all about it when it gets closer, in about a month. I have loads of yarn, and I have to keep it in Rubbermade bins in the garage. I went out there and loaded up my bicycle basket to bring out the skeins I wanted. For some reason, having a basket full of yarn made me really happy. I felt like Little Crafty Riding Hood or something.

Sunday was also Champ’s 8th Birthday. Happy Birthday, Champy Man.
